WILKES-BARRE PA – The Bar Hopping sophomore gelding Attis Rock came up the inside to just catch pacesetter G Load in 1:57 while taking the $15,000 featured trot at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon.

Favored Greenspan made a break early, letting G Load set his own pace of :29.3, :58.4, and 1:28.2, with Attis Rock on his back. Greenspan moved up sharply late on the backstretch and went head-to-head with the leader around the turn, but when he backed off slightly after his arduous trip, Attis Rock launched a late bid to G Load’s left, catching that rival by the smallest possible margin.

93-years-young trainer Donald Wiest, co-owner with his son David, continued his excellent meet at Pocono, with the stable notching its seventh winner with but sixteen starters. Wiest again hooked up with 24-year-old driver Braxten Boyd for another success.

In a $12,000 contest for two-year-olds, Hoosier Park shipper Paxamilllon quickly adjusted to the local scene, going wire-to-wire for George Napolitano Jr. in his purse debut. The son of Sweet Lou left enough to put favorite Waterfront in behind him, set fractions of :27.3, :57, and 1:25.4, then dashed home to keep the chalk safe by a length in a 1:54 mile. Trainer Britney Dillon co-owns the victor with William Hartt, Howard Taylor, and Jamie Durnberger-Smith.

The drivers of the two feature races winners, Braxten Boyd and George Napolitano Jr., each collected four victories during the card.

The Pocono Downs racing week closes out on Tuesday with a 1 p.m. card; there will be a carryover for the High-5 bet in the last race. Programs are or will be available at www.phha.org.
