WILKES-BARRE PA – Concise and Allioop Blue Chip were repeat winners in Bobby Weiss Series action for three-year-old trotting females on Tuesday afternoon, while on the pacing side no first prelim winner could duplicate that victory in their divisions of the second leg. Each purse on both gaits was $17,500.

Concise,  a daughter of Gimpanzee driven by Tim Tetrick for trainer Nik Drennan, whose Drennan Stable LLC shares ownership with Joseph Davino and Brad Shackman, was forwardly-placed throughout her mile, then had the most trot when swung wide by Tetrick to lower her mark to 1:55.3 while taking her record to two-for-two this year and three-for-four lifetime.

Just a tick behind Concise’s clocking while also lowering her lifetime best was Allioop Hanover, with whom driver Andrew McCarthy stayed close to the speed then was guided to the inside for the dash home and was along in plenty of time. Noel Daley conditions the Tactical Landing miss for R Lynn and Philomena Curry.

Tim Tetrick added a second Weiss trot win behind the Captain Corey filly Chestnut Kelly, who fanned wide for the drive and was along easily while taking a maiden mark of 1:56.4. Scott Di Domenico trains the winner for owner Angela Cornell.

The other series contest for diamondgaited distaffs went to the only non-favorite in the group, second choice Aviatrix Blue Chip, with the Chapter Seven miss coming from sixth at the half to notch her first lifetime success in 1:55.4 for driver Jason Bartlett, trainer Jared Bako, and Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc.

Just as Tim Tetrick drove the fastest Weiss trot winner, he also earned speed honors on the pace with the Always B Miki filly She B Minnie, who rallied with a pair of :27.1 back-end quarters to earn a new speed badge of 1:52.2. She B Minnie has five wins in her brief career, including three this year for trainer Michael Hall and owner Robert Tribbett, and she was the only non-chalk in the three Weiss paces.

Bringing a second success to sire Always B Miki was Red Hot Lahoma, who lowered her mark to 1:53 with a :55.3 last half in an engine tally. Ridge Warren guided the victress, the easiest of the Weiss winners with a 4¾ length margin at the line, for trainer Jeffrey Pinder and Carry S Stables LLC.

In the other sidewheeling cut, the Tall Dark Stranger filly Sundownsomewhere, photoed out in a :27 quarter in the first leg, this week produced a :26.4 flurry at crunch time to break her maiden in 1:53.1 and earn driver Jason Bartlett a Weiss win on each gait. Trainer Joe Bongiorno shares ownership through his Joseph Bongiorno LLC with Philip Steinberg and Crawford Farms LLC.

Driver Tetrick, who posted seven wins on the first two cards of the year at Philly this past weekend as he bids there for a sixth straight crown, led all Pocono drivers on Tuesday with three successes. Driving doubles were recorded by Jason Bartlett, Anthony Napolitano, and Ridge Warren; no trainer could double up on the card.

The third and final preliminary of Weiss action for the sophomore pacing colts will highlight the next Pocono card on Saturday at 1 p.m., with Twin B Thriller going for a sweep of the preliminaries; bettors will also note a carryover into the last race High 5 wager.
