CHESTER PA – Four of the six entrants in the $11,600 distaff pacing feature at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon had the lead at some point of the race; the one who had it when it counted most was the Real Artist mare Abigail Dawn, who won in 1:52.

D Gs Elsa, leaving from the outside post, streaked by favored Apple Hanover going to the 1/8, looping Abigail Dawn and Anytime N; Apple Hanover went back to the front to gain the top by the :26.3 quarter. Both parked horses pressed on, with Abigail Dawn making the lead in front of the stands and Anytime N needing until almost the half-mile pole, passed in :55.1, to finally got on top.
Apple Hanover came back for more down the backstretch, with D Gs Elsa behind her, but Anytime N would not let her pass, not by the 1:23 three-quarters nor at any other point left in the race. Anytime N had the lead in the stretch, but Abigail Dawn, sitting in the pocket for Dexter Dunn, had enough late strength to get past the leader by a half length, with Apple Hanover holding well to be third, another length back.

Abigail Dawn has now won three of her last five starts for trainer Chris Ryder and the Shore Thing Stables LLC.

Fastest mile of the day was the 1:51.4 victory that gave Infinite Symbol A her first Stateside victory. Things didn’t look too good for the even-money favorite as she was a locked-in last in the field of seven at the half, but Tim Tetrick extricated the daughter of Indomitable Saab near the three-quarter pole; she was still sixth at that point, but she ate up the late ground over a track not friendly to closers and won for trainer Dylan Davis, co-owner with Michael Casalino Jr.

Tim Tetrick was the leading driver on the day with four victories; George Napolitano Jr., currently on top of the local standings, was just behind with three tallies, and he ends the third quarter of the calendar year with an astounding 255 victories in that period.
