CHESTER PA – The only thing hotter than the 38 candles on Tim Tetrick’s birthday cake on Friday was his continued scorching form in the sulky at Harrah’s Philadelphia, where he guided six more winners, including She’s Allright in 1:52.4 while taking the $17,000 distaff pacing feature.

Tetrick got away second with the sophomore daughter of Sweet Lou, who was a Jugette finalist, then brushed around early leader Sweet Lucy Lou just past the :28.4 opening quarter on a “good track.” She’s Allright kept rolling to a :57.1 half, with Alkippe coming first-over at that point and favored Lincoln’s Girl N, trying to stay undefeated in the States, out and second-over.

CHESTER PA – The millionaire Dayson overcame adversity in starting position and racing fortune to win the $18,000 featured trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon, able to rally after a fast half to win in 1:54.1.

The victorious Conway Hall gelding was part of the quick early tempo, as driver Yannick Gingras had him four-wide early, then backed off and tucked midpack as Sylvesteramericanit wound up on the lead after a :26.4 quarter, Armageddon Seelster wound up in the pocket, and Izoh had to take a lot of fresh Philly air in the two-path. Things proceeded in that fashion to the :55.4 half, and then Gingras moved his trotter quickly two- and three-wide to get by the embattled leaders before the 1:24.3 three-quarters. Dayson continued on authoritatively to win by two lengths over Armageddon Seelster, who came through between horses to claim the deuce.

CHESTER PA – Driver Tim Tetrick continued his blistering form streak at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, winning seven of the day’s twelve races to give him 22 victories during the last four cards in which he participated locally.

Six of Tetrick’s seven wins came on the front end, which went 10-for-12 on the day, but his win in the $16,000 co-featured trot with Grover Hanover did not. The Andover Hall gelding was a pocket rocket in catching frontstepping Choco Charlie by 1¼ lengths while taking a new mark of 1:56.4 for trainer Bucky Angle and owners Howard and Joshua Kauffman.

WILKES-BARRE PA – On the closing night of the 2019 season at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, there were many highlights, with champions both human and equine honored.

But stealing the show was 23-year-old provisional driver Sofia Zingale, who picked a dramatic circumstance in which to record her first-ever sulky victory – in the final $15,000 Billings Amateur Driving Series Eastern Championship.

CHESTER PA – Drivers Dexter Dunn and George Napolitano Jr. won the feature races at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Friday afternoon – and red-hot Tim Tetrick won about everything else.

Dunn guided the Captaintreacherous sophomore filly Philly Hanover to her second straight victory while winning the $18,000 top-billed distaff pace in 1:51.4. The “hometown horse” had to go the first-over route, but the uncovered journey did not faze the heaviest of favorites at all as she won by 2¾ lengths over Modesta, who tailed her cover, for trainer Ron Coyne Jr. and the partnership of Ron Coyne Stables Inc. and Blair Corbeil.

CHESTER PA – The Credit Winner gelding Ooh Rah didn’t have to move out of third until the ¾ for driver Pat Lachance in the $18,000 featured trot Thursday afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia, and then he was able to sustain a rally to catch favored Mississippi Storm in 1:55.1.

Ooh Rah was able to get to the lead early, with millionaire DW’s NY Yank going wide early and surging to the lead before a :27.2 quarter. Mississippi Storm had been looped in the early action, but he stayed on and went to the lead in front of the stands, getting a bit of a breather with middle fractions of :57 and 1:26.2. But it was nearing the latter station that Ooh Rah made his move, and he closed determinedly to get past the pacesetting chalk by a neck, raising his lifetime earnings to $210,055 for trainer Kathleen La Montagne, co-owner with Donald La Montagne.

In a co-featured$14,500 trotting contest, driver Pat Lachance also reported home first, here with the Italian import Sylvesteramericait, who never looked back from the rail in putting up a winning clocking of 1:54.3 Bob Baggitt Jr. trains the Varenne gelding, now a winner of $297,007 on both sides of the Atlantic, for owner Christine Baggitt.
Lachance and George Napolitano Jr. tied for the day’s honors with three driving victories apiece.

CHESTER PA – Before driver Tim Tetrick headed south to Dover Downs for some stakes competition later today and tomorrow, he got himself a nice little warmup at Harrah’s Philadelphia during the Wednesday afternoon card, visiting Victory Lane six times before going to the First State.

Tetrick’s six victories give him a 299-266 lead over George Napolitano Jr. with eighteen cards left in the 2019 Philly season. Should Tetrick retain his lead, he would win his sixth driving victory title at Harrah’s Philadelphia, and bring him to within one of Napolitano’s seven local win crowns.

IN-FORM HORSES WIN FEATURES AT CHILLY POCONO ON TUESDAY

WILKES-BARRE PA – The winners of the three $15,000 featured races at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono on the Tuesday twilight card all continued recent winning form with victories as the favorites in their respective contests.

The one with the highest winning rate lately is the Sir Lincoln pacing mare Lincoln’s Girl N, who remained undefeated in three U.S. starts while taking a new mark of 1:54.2 despite racing over a “good +2” track, with the temperatures a biting 21 degrees and blowing snow in the infield. To say that driver George Napolitano Jr. was “sitting chilly” in the sulky late would be correct in two senses, as the Kiwi won by herself, taking her fourth straight race counting her Down Under departure event. Trainer Josh Green co-owns the promising distaff with Richard Lombardo and David Kryway.

By: Jerry Connors, Jr.
WILKES-BARRE PA – The Keystone Endeavor gelding Endeavors Pride, under constant reminders from driver Matt Kakaley to keep to business during the mile, showed gameness in taking the featured $16,000 claiming handicap pace Saturday evening at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

Endeavors Pride was looped early, and was outside well past the :26.4 opening quarter. The winner did gain command before the :55.4 half, but he soon came under attack from first-over Rockin Rio. Endeavors Pride turned that one back on the far turn, then had enough to withstand a huge closing burst by Outkast Blue Chip, closer to the outside fence than the pylons turning for home, by 1¾ lengths in 1:52.3, with the mercury at 30 degrees.  The eight-time seasonal winner is trained by Katie Remmerswaal for Doug and Leslie Berkeley.

By: Jerry Connors, Jr.
CHESTER PA – The Bettor’s Delight mare Gold Orchid N had to work until the three-eighths before getting the lead from the outside post eight, but she stayed strong on the lead and posted a 1:53 victory in the $18,000 featured pace on a chilly Friday afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

The winner of $226,285, including six figures both last year and this, had a host of leavers inside her but remained fixed on controlling the pace, being limbed well past the :27.2 opener, then making the top and getting a bit of a breather to the 1:24.2 three-quarters. No one could get near the frontstepping mare in the lane as she finished 2¾ lengths ahead of pocketsitting Clarebear for the “New Zealand Trifecta” – herself, trainer Mark Harder, and driver of Dexter Dunn. Bamq LLC saw their sole horse post her third win in her last five starts.
