WILKES-BARRE PA – The trotters took a rare turn in the Saturday spotlight over an off surface at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, with the Swan For All gelding After All Paul setting slow fractions then sprinting home to win the $15,700 fast-class feature.

Driver Anthony Napolitano let other early leavers go, then brushed after a :28 quarter to get command before the three-eighths. After All Paul got slow middle fractions, even for an off track, of :58.2 and 1:27.1, then despite bearing out still prevailed easily with a :28 hustle home to complete the 1:55.1 mile. Rock Of Cashel was second, a neck ahead of third-place and favorite King Alphonso but 1¼ lengths       behind After All Paul, who is trained by Lance Hudson for owner William Hartt.

Other top performances on the Saturday card were a pair of 1:50.1 miles by pacers – by the Rock N Roll Heaven gelding Paternity Suit A for driver Marcus Miller, trainer Tom Fanning, and owners Anthony Gruppo and Tim Bojarski, and by the Roll With Joe gelding Benji’s Best for driver Matt Kakaley, trainer Travis Alexander, and Rags To Riches Of PA LLC. Also with a sharp victory was the veteran Explosive Matter altered trotter Rich And Miserable, a 1:52.4 winner trained by Todd Buter, owned by Buter Farm Inc., Lynette Buter, and William and Carol Fuhs, and one of Tyler Buter’s four winning drives on the day.

Featured on Sunday’s 5:00 p.m. card will be a $13,000 pace for fast-class mares; two-year-old colt trotters going for $11,700 will also be of interest for the development they show. Program pages are available at https://www.phha.org/downsmsppps.html.
