CHESTER PA – The Tim Tetrick Express continues to motor along at Harrah’s Philadelphia, as the ballot candidate for the Hall of Fame, coming off 16 wins at the southeast Pennsylvania oval last week and five victories here yesterday, added five more today before leaving for the State Fair card at Harrington. Tetrick won one of the two $14,500 featured trots and both divisions of a $14,000 co-featured trot.

The 37-year-old driver came from third-over with the Equinox Bi gelding Playboy Buddy Rose to wrestle the lead away from Yuge and record a neck triumph in 1:54.2 in one of the co-features. The lightly-raced eight-year-old has a better than 25% win ratio lifetime (19-for-74) for trainer Linda Lambert and owner Lloyd Lambert.

First of the feature winners to Victory Lane was the Majestic Son gelding Majestic Marvel, trained by Josh Green for Green Racing Inc. Dexter Dunn got away fourth, then was on the move late on the first turn with the winner, grabbing the lead at 3/8 and then coming home in :57 to post a 1:55 triumph,1¾ lengths ahead of pocketsitting Turn The Paige.
In the first of the co-featured trots, the Holy Guacamole sophomore trotting filly Current News, fresh off a second in her Maryland Sire Stakes final, posted a lifetime best of 1:56.3 for driver Tetrick, trainer Eli Scott Jr., and Bay Pond Racing Stable. Current News was away fourth, moved up to the pocket as two foes in front of her went offstride, came out to get the lead in the stretch, then just held off Zack’s Got The W, who cleared between horses very well late and was gaining well, by a neck.

Tetrick then went on to sweep the $14,000 events with the Yankee Glide sophomore gelding Oberto, quarter-moving to the lead and then winning by 2¼ lengths over pocketsitting Fiery Lady while taking a new mark of 1:56.4. Oberto now has a record of 5-2-2-1 in just over a month of being with trainer Scott Di Domenico and the ownership of Triple D Stable Inc. and JFE Enterprise LLC.

A Harrah’s Philly driving race that was as close as Tim Tetrick 93 – George Napolitano 92 after June 12 has for now turned into a rout – Napolitano had won a very respectable 36 races in the interval since then, but Tetrick has posted 71 triumphs in the intervening  26 cards. “The Bionic Man” is second in North America in 2019 victories, behind only “The Iron Man” Aaron Merriman, and it is noteworthy that Tetrick is closer to Merriman (538-438 going into today) than the third-place holder in the standings (Ron Wrenn Jr., 319) is to Tetrick.
