CHESTER PA -- 2015 Harness Horse of the Year Wiggle It Jiggleit continues his comeback after being away from the races for almost three years, set to go in a Tuesday morning qualifying session at Harrah’s Philadelphia.
So far in 2019, Wiggle It Jiggleit posted a 1:53.4 qualifying victory, rushing home in :27, at Philly two weeks ago, and then last week at Pocono he was third, timed in 1:54.2, after setting the pace. Montrell Teague is set to reclaim his usual spot behind Wiggle It Jiggleit – last week he was committed at Philly to drive a horse named Mr Jagerbomber, who won after a layoff of “only” 105 weeks. “Wiggle” will start from post six in the sixth of Philly’s nine qualifiers on Tuesday, and his race should go somewhere near 11 a.m.
His lifetime earnings currently stand at $3,907,557, and he took his present mark of 1:47.2 on July 9 of his four-year-old year, winning the Graduate Final. His all-time track record at Philly, 1:47.3, got a scare yesterday when Shartin N, the mare who right now is the favorite to succeed WIJI as Horse of the Year four years afterwards, paced a 1:48 mile.
Clyde Francis continues to train the champion in the George Teague Jr. stable, who are of course the backing force behind FFA pacing power Lather Up.
