CHESTER PA – A quartet of $12,600 featured events for classclimbing youngsters highlighted the Wednesday afternoon card at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

In an event for trotters, the Trixton sophomore gelding Narzario, a stablemate of Hambletonian winner Captain Corey in the Åke Svanstedt stable, was the heaviest kind of favorite and lived up to that regard while winning easily in 1:55.4. George Napolitano Jr. made a quick move with the winner coming off turn two, and Narzario finished in :56.4 for his second win in his last three starts for Brixton Medical Inc.
Both divisions of the male pace saw the favorite overhauled late by a winner taking a new mark. The faster section went to the Somebeachsomewhere three-year-old gelding Shakespeare, who sat in the two-hole behind pacesetting Cyrus Peak, then had the necessary sprint to overhaul the leader in 1:53, pacing his own back half in :55.1 in winning by a half-length. Allan Davis drove the successful pacer for trainer Tyler Davis; both are co-owners with Brendan Davis.

In the other matchup of males, Louie The Looper didn’t have to vacate third until late on the backstretch, then  was able to grind down a stubborn Comanche Creek by 1¼ lengths in 1:54.1, with his own end splits :54.4 - :27.1. The three-year-old Sweet Lou colt has now won twice in his last three trips behind the gate, with Corey Callahan (top driver on the day with three victories) handling the sulky duties for the brother team of trainer Tom and owner John Cancelliere.

The Somebeachsomewhere filly Skyy, despite not racing since mid-May, was ready in her first return start, lowering her mark to 1:52.4 in the feature division for distaff pacers. Skyy was helped by a hotly-contested pace, but the sophomore also did an unusual thing for Philly – she swung wide off of cover and was able to draw clear by two lengths for driver Troy Beyer, trainer Brett Bittle, and Yankeeland Partners LLC.

Thursday is “Trottin’ Thursday” at Harrah’s Philadelphia, and the day’s feature is an excellent $16,200 fast-class contest featuring the likes of Ab’sattitudexpress, Big Oil, Scirocco Rob, and Yall Beneath Me.
